Guy Montag
Guy was a firefighter who was loyal to the group. But when a girl named Clarisse McClellan comes and starts asking him questions, he starts thinking about rebellion. The Mechanical Hound, an electronic hound that is supposed to hunt down every person who has thoughts of rebellion, senses that Guy is thinking about rebellion. Montag gets lucky that the hound lost his scent when he jumped in a river, but his thoughts are still there.
Clarisse McClellean
Clarisse was an almost 17 year old girl who was supposedly anti-social. She would question the ways of the society, and in my opinion fits the quote “If they give you ruled paper, then write the other way." I say this because Clarisse never followed the rules. She didn't go to school AND she questioned the ways of society. Clarisse one day asked Montag questions about why he was a firefighter, and whether he ever read any books. This sparked a fire in Montag's head. Sadly, before Clarisse could reach age 17, she was hit by a car and pronounced dead.
Mildred (Millie) Montag
Millie was Guy Montag's wife. Millie was like the example of a perfect citizen: she would follow all of the rules and only questioned those who didn't. Millie was the exact opposite of Clarisse. So when Guy goes and steals a book and tries to read it, Millie was upset. When Guy announced that they had killed an old woman, Millie thought that this was okay. This is why the relationship between Millie and Guy gets farther apart: they think two different ways and soon find out that they barely know each other at all...
